The Human Resources Specialist Designer will perform a variety of tasks to assist the Project Manager - People and Communities.The candidate will act primarily as a consultant to mining companies seeking to comply with their social protocols.
A non-exhaustive list of human resources tasks is given below.
- Collaborate with mining customers in the deployment of their Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) action plans to comply with the latest standards.
- List existing practices in the company, establish diagnoses and develop new EDI recommendations and initiatives.
- Help promote sustainable community development initiatives (infrastructure, local employment, training, etc.).
As a designer, he or she will work in collaboration with and support the project manager responsible for the social component. He or she is expected to be versatile, and may be called upon to carry out projects involving health and safety issues in the workplace, or with communities.
Experience and qualifications
- BAC or Technical in health and safety, human resources, community relations or any other relevant field;
- Minimum experience of 3 to 5 years in a similar position, preferably in the mining sector (an asset);
- Knowledge of Canadian health and safety standards and regulations (OHS, CNESST, etc.);
- Fluency in French and English (oral and written);
- Autonomy and sense of initiative;
- Good ability to popularize and teach;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
